Harbour Lights Barnegat NJ

Illuminated in 1859 and retired from service in 1944, 'Old Barney' is one of the Northeast's most famous and beloved sentinels. Rising 175 fee off the water, the solid brick tower was considered a marvel in its day. In 1991, the tower was opened to the public, along with a wonderful maritime museum.

The GLOW version of Barnegat was first issued in April, 1997. Late in 1997, Harbour Lights decided to resculpt the lighthouse to bring it into scale with other GLOW lighthouses. Approximately 4,000 of the original smaller HL414 lighthouses were made; all carried an "A" serial number. The revised GLOW Barnegat Lighthouse was previewed at the Spring 1998 Collectible Show at Edison NJ. Numbering was begun again at 1, using an "A" designation for lighthouses produced in 1998. The "R" designation is not shown on the product label; only on Harbour Lights' order forms.
