Harbour Lights Boston Harbor MA

The stone lighthouse on Little Brewster Island in Boston Harbor was the first built in the New England colonies and lighted in 1716. The British left a trail of gunpowder that blew up the lighthouse an hour after their departure following the American Revolution. The tower, rebuilt in 1783, is the last officially staffed lighthouse in the United States.
