Harbour Lights Mystic Seaport CT
Picture a quaint town that time forgot, a place that preserves the lost art of Americana and nautical heritage. This place is Mystic, Connecticut. You may have heard of Mystic Seaport in a movie once or twice. Mystic Pizza and Amistad were both set in the charming little village, situated a few miles from New London, Connecticut.
Mystic Seaport has often been called a "living museum." Whether you are a tourist or a history buff, the time spent at the Mystic Seaport is well worth the trip. As part of the exhibits you will find a bustling 19th Century village complete with tall ships and historic buildings. There are various other exhibit galleries throughout the Mystic Seaport area. You will also find a unique shipyard where you can witness first hand the amazing art of wooden shipbuilding.
The lighthouse built in Mystic is an exact copy of Nantucket's Brant Point Lighthouse. It is situated two miles upriver from Noank at Mystic's whaling harbor and is maintained by the Mystic Seaport Museum. Surrounded by amazing, historic boats and ships, this little lighthouse is a sight to see.
